Can You Return to Act 2 from Act 3 in BG3?
Quick Answer
No. In normal Baldur’s Gate 3 progression, reaching Act 3 closes travel back to Acts 1 and 2. To revisit those areas, you need an earlier save; loading it means replaying the progress made afterward.

Route 01
Check your save before trying another waypoint#
Confirm the Act 3 boundary#
If you are already in Act 3, changing waypoints does not reopen the previous acts. Players answering this exact question independently describe the transition as a one-way boundary. Keep your current save, then look through your earlier saves for one before the transition. Load that earlier state only if returning is worth replaying what followed. If you do not have a suitable earlier save, the normal travel system does not provide a return route.
Caution
Choose whether the missed content is worth replaying#
Compare the earlier save with your current progress before committing to it. You can preserve the current playthrough while deciding whether to revisit the earlier one. A missing Act 2 destination after reaching Act 3 is not, by itself, a sign that your game needs a repair. This answer concerns normal progression; it does not provide a mod or console workaround.
