Before you set out
Prerequisites#
- Use the Week 248 Scoria update or an applicable later version.
- For an existing prospect, prepare the Tier 5 Deep Cycler at a Manufacturer and Refined Oil for fuel.
Route 02
Prepare the Deep Cycler and preview the veins#
Craft and place the device#
The Tier 5 Deep Cycler is crafted at the Manufacturer and can be placed on terrain. It runs on Refined Oil.
Choose which veins are eligible#
Veins with drills attached are excluded. Detach drills from veins you want to reroll; leave them attached to veins you want excluded.
Inspect the preview before activation#
The device’s UI shows the nearby veins that will be affected. Check that preview before starting, rather than relying on an assumed radius.

Fuel, activate and defend#
Supply Refined Oil#
The official Deep Cycler notes say a single 20L oil can can complete an event.
Defend against the attracted creatures#
Activation attracts Caveworms and Landsharks. Defend the machine while it works: damage causes it to shut down.
Let the cycle complete#
At completion, eligible Deep Ore Veins in range are reconfigured into different available resources.
