The Last Good Boy: Enchant Equipped and Chest Items
Quick Answer
The full release of The Last Good Boy lets you enchant an equipped item without unequipping it. Version 1.1.0 also adds enchanting items directly from a Chest. Choose carefully between an Orb and the Enchantment Table: an Orb replaces existing enchantments and can give up to three, while the table lets you choose the enchantment.

Prerequisites#
- Check that you are playing the full release rather than following an older Demo guide.
- Chest enchanting requires the feature added in v1.1.0.
Route 01
Match the item location and the result you want#
Keeping an item equipped is supported. The important choice is which enchanting method you use.
Leave equipped gear equipped#
The v1.0.0 release notes explicitly allow enchanting an equipped item. You do not need to remove the item merely because older advice or Demo behavior suggests that requirement.
Use current Chest support#
From v1.1.0, you can enchant items directly from the Chest. An earlier v1.0.4 patch fixed Chest items losing their enchantment when moving between maps. If stored gear loses effects on an older build, update before treating that loss as an intended rule.
Decide before replacing enchantments#
An Orb replaces the item’s old enchantments and produces up to three. “Up to” is not a promise of three every time. If you want to choose the effect, use the Enchantment Table instead; do not use an Orb while expecting all existing effects to remain.
Distinguish table input from old Demo advice#
The full-release notes say merged Orbs can be used at the Enchantment Table where raw essence was previously used. This version change matters when comparing an older tutorial with your current inventory.
