Broken Front: How to Pan the Map and Reach Off-Screen Units
Quick Answer
In Broken Front by KOArtist Games, hold the middle mouse button and drag to pan the battlefield. Turning the mouse wheel zooms instead. The developer gave middle-button dragging as the answer for players who could not reach off-screen units. WASD scrolling and windowed mode were plans in the checked replies, so they are not confirmed shortcuts for this version.

Route 01
Separate camera movement from unit movement#
A wheel rotation, a wheel click, and a unit move are different inputs.
Hold the middle button while moving the mouse#
Press the wheel as a button and keep it held while dragging. This pans the map toward units or terrain outside the current view. Rotating the wheel without holding it changes zoom instead.
Use the wheel to adjust zoom#
Zoom to get a different view of the battlefield, then pan with the middle button as needed. Do not mistake a working zoom wheel for proof that its middle-button switch is also working.
Check the unit movement option separately#
Left-click selects a unit. The Move Button setting in Options lets you choose left or right mouse for movement. That setting controls unit movement and does not establish a replacement camera-pan binding.
Read the selection frame in a stack#
The selected unit is identified by its frame, but selection does not bring its counter to the top of the stack. A counter staying underneath another does not by itself mean that your selection failed.
Caution
If your mouse cannot middle-click#
The checked controls do not provide a confirmed keyboard-pan fallback for a broken or absent middle button. Describe that input limitation to the developer. Do not rely on an unconfirmed launch flag, WASD support, or windowed-mode fix merely because those features were requested or planned.
