Campfire recovery · Day One patch 0.5.169

Scavland Campfire Healing: Energy and Hydration Matter

Quick Answer

To recover health at a Scavland campfire, the fire must be lit and your Energy and Hydration must be in good condition. Patch 0.5.169 adds particles, sound, and a healing indicator to show recovery. Simply finding an unlit campfire, or waiting while hungry or dehydrated, is not the same as meeting those conditions.

Before you set out

Prerequisites#

  • Use a burning campfire.
  • Keep both Energy and Hydration in good condition.

Route 01

Check the fire and both survival needs#

If your health is not recovering, work through the stated conditions before assuming the campfire is broken.

  1. Make sure the campfire is burning#

The developer’s healing instruction requires a lit fire. An extinguished campfire does not meet that condition. This guide does not assume a particular fuel recipe or ignition button.

  2. Check Energy and Hydration together#

Both need to be in good condition. Address a depleted need before expecting campfire healing; satisfying only one does not match the developer’s rule. No exact percentage threshold is given.

  3. Look for recovery feedback#

The Day One patch adds particles, sound, and a healing indicator. Watch your health as well as those cues to judge whether recovery has started, rather than assuming that proximity alone is enough.
