Before you begin
The octave selects a row and the active light selects a column. Their intersection supplies the complete four-note sequence; keep the letters in the order printed.

Before you set out
Prerequisites#
- Read the Braille octave number and active light color, and open your current Piano manual.
Route 01
Turn the octave and light into four notes#
Read both clues before looking up the sequence#
Identify the octave number written in Braille and the active light color. Keep the number and color together as one lookup pair. The octave alone does not identify the required cell.
Read the complete cell#
Use the octave’s row and the light-color column in your current manual. Read all four note letters at that intersection, keeping their printed order. Pass the sequence along as four ordered notes rather than as an unordered list of letters.
Play the notes in the listed order#
Play the first indicated note, then the second, third and fourth. If a letter appears more than once, play it at every listed position; keep all four notes, including repeats. Keep following the same four-letter sequence from the selected cell; do not rearrange it into alphabetical order.
Caution
Read the table in your current manual#
The four letters in a screenshot are an example of that manual’s values. Use the letters in the cell selected by your own octave and active light. If an online sequence differs, return to those two clues and the current manual instead of copying the other sequence.
