SANDUSTRY Puzzles: Artifact Circuit Rules
Quick Answer
For SANDUSTRY Artifact puzzles, first expose and inspect the circuit instead of trying to build on every surface. The saved gameplay evidence shows that construction belongs on yellow build surfaces. Route the required factory or signal pieces only through those allowed areas, then verify that every visible circuit node changes state. Puzzle layouts can differ, so this page gives the rule and a recovery order rather than pretending one fixed diagram solves every Artifact.

Guide details
Before you begin
Read an Artifact room before building, use its yellow surfaces, activate the visible circuits, and separate a missed trigger from a likely broken state.
Artifact puzzle rules supported by current gameplay evidence: yellow build surfaces, visible circuits and bounded recovery checks. No universal layout or guaranteed reset is claimed.

- Check note
- A current gameplay result directly shows construction on yellow surfaces; circuit and stuck-trigger reports bound the troubleshooting language.
Before you set out
Prerequisites#
- Reach the Artifact or puzzle space and clear enough of the area to see the usable surfaces and circuit nodes.
- Bring the current machines and connections unlocked by your save; a later-tier solution cannot be forced with missing research.
- Save before dismantling a large working route when the final circuit appears not to trigger.
Route 01
Solve the room by reading its allowed build space#
Expose the whole puzzle footprint#
Remove or work around loose obstructions until the circuit path, nodes and yellow build surfaces are visible. Do not diagnose the puzzle from one blocked viewing angle.
Treat yellow surfaces as the build boundary#
Place the required factory or routing pieces on the yellow surfaces shown by the room. Evidence supports that build rule; it does not support construction on every wall or decorative surface.
Follow the circuit one node at a time#
Trace the path from the first visible input through each circuit section. Confirm one state change before adding the next piece so an unpowered or reversed connection is easy to locate.
Check the final activation state#
After every visible circuit section responds, pause and watch for the Artifact's completion reaction. A connected-looking line is not enough if one node never changed state.
Pocket list 02
What to verify before rebuilding#
- All yellow build surfaces are visible and reachable.
- No circuit node is still obscured by removable material.
- Every placed piece has power, input and output in the expected direction.
- Each circuit section changes state before the next is added.
- The save owns the research tier needed by the attempted solution.
Fault ledger
If the last circuit will not trigger#
- The game refuses construction inside the room
- Re-center on the yellow build surfaces. The observed rule is not that the entire Artifact chamber is buildable.
- One circuit stays inactive
- Trace backward to the last node that changed state and inspect direction, power and a hidden obstruction before replacing the whole route.
- Every visible circuit looks active but nothing completes
- Preserve the save, re-check for an obscured node, and reload once if the state appears stuck. Current reports include a possible missed trigger; this page does not claim a universal player-error fix.
Why this is a rule guide, not an all-solutions chart#
Current empirical results support yellow build surfaces, circuit activation and multiple Artifact layouts. They do not establish that every puzzle shares one fixed arrangement, so exact copied coordinates and guaranteed reset steps are intentionally excluded.
