Valheim Cheats PC: Console Setup and Safe Command Limits
Quick Answer
On PC, enable the Valheim console first, usually with the Steam launch option -console, then press F5 in game and type devcommands to toggle cheat commands. Cheat commands are limited to singleplayer or manually hosted mode; they do not work on a dedicated server. Dedicated-server admins get admin tools such as kick, ban, unban, save, and world modifier commands, but that admin role is not the same as cheat access. Use specific commands carefully: goto x z teleports you, fly toggles fly mode, heal refills health, stamina, and eitr, and tod sets the time of day.

Before you set out
Prerequisites#
- Use this page for the PC version of Valheim. Xbox and cloud instructions differ and are not the focus of this batch.
- Know whether you are in singleplayer, a manually hosted world, a community server, or a dedicated server before typing cheat commands.
- Back up important worlds before experimenting. Command pages here describe syntax and scope, not a personal playtest or guaranteed recovery plan.
The PC cheat flow has three separate steps#
Valheim PC cheats are not a single always-on menu. First, the developer console must be enabled. On Steam, the saved reference gives the launch option -console and then F5 in game. Second, cheat commands must be toggled with devcommands. Third, you use the exact command for the task, such as goto for coordinates, fly for flight, heal for a refill, or tod for the clock. Mixing those steps is the usual source of confusion: F5 opens the console, devcommands changes the allowed command set, and the individual command performs the action.
Pocket list 02
Where Valheim cheats work#
- Singleplayer: cheat commands can be toggled with devcommands after the console is enabled.
- Manually hosted world: the same cheat-command path is listed as available, but treat it as a host-controlled local world rather than a public server privilege.
- Dedicated server: cheat commands do not work there. The source explicitly separates dedicated-server administration from cheat/debug commands.
- Community server you joined: assume no cheat access unless you are the host in a manually hosted world. Being invited or knowing the password does not make you a cheat admin.
- Admin list on a dedicated server: admin utilities such as kick, ban and save are available, but debugmode, fly and other cheats remain outside dedicated-server support.
Route 03
Use the overview without merging every command into one page#
Open the console first#
For Steam, add -console in Launch Options, close the properties window, start Valheim, and press F5 in game. Game Pass and Mac App Store installs have different setup paths in the source, so do not copy the Steam path blindly.
Toggle devcommands when you need cheats#
Type devcommands and press Enter. Type it again when you want to turn cheat commands off. Player commands and emotes do not need this toggle, while cheat commands do.
Use the task-specific page for the command#
Teleporting, flying, stamina, and time of day solve different problems. This overview links them together, but it keeps syntax on separate pages so a player looking for goto coordinates is not forced through a full cheat catalog.
Field questions
Valheim PC cheat questions#
- Does devcommands make cheats work on a dedicated server?
- No. The saved command reference says cheat commands work in singleplayer or manually hosted mode and do not work on a dedicated server.
- Is fly the same as debugmode Z?
- They are related. The fly command toggles fly mode, and the debug-mode control table also lists Z as the fly toggle while debugmode is active.
- Is there a direct infinite stamina command?
- No direct vanilla infinite-stamina command is established in the saved command table. The supported refill command is heal, which regenerates health, stamina, and eitr.
- Can I use these pages as proof of current public-server permissions?
- No. They are command syntax and scope guides. Server permissions remain controlled by the host and by the dedicated-server limits.
