Prerequisites#
- Open the console first and toggle devcommands before using cheat commands.
- Use two map coordinates for goto: x and z. Do not add a y height value unless a current source documents a changed syntax.

Use goto as the Valheim teleport command#
Enable the command category#
Open the console with F5 after enabling -console, then type devcommands. Without the cheat category enabled, a teleport attempt can fail for the wrong reason.
Read coordinates when needed#
Use pos to show your current coordinates. This helps you confirm the x and z format and gives you a known safe value if you need to test the command near your current location.
Enter goto with x and z#
Type goto [x] [z], replacing the bracketed values with coordinates. For example, goto 100 -250 follows the documented two-coordinate shape. The saved source does not document a destination-name teleport or a y-height argument for this command.
Check the result before moving again#
After the jump, pause long enough for the world to load and make sure you are not in water, a structure, or hostile terrain. The syntax guide does not guarantee a safe landing spot.
Why goto fails on dedicated or community servers#
The Developer console source is explicit: cheat commands are available in singleplayer or manually hosted mode only and do not work on a dedicated server. The dedicated-server source also says that being an admin gives access only to admin-specific server commands and not to cheats or debugmode. That means a community server can show up in a public list, accept a password, and let an admin kick or ban players without allowing goto. If you joined someone else's server, do not treat a failed teleport as a syntax problem until you verify the server type and permission category.

Teleport safely without inventing extra syntax#
- Use pos before the first jump so you have a known coordinate reference.
