Withering Realms Save Location and Realm Backup
Quick Answer
On Windows, Withering Realms saves are in your user folder under AppData/LocalLow/Moonless Formless/Withering Realms, inside your Steam ID folder. To make a backup in the game, choose Realms on the title screen, select your Realm, open Manage Realm, then use Copy Realm and choose an empty candle.

Before you set out
Prerequisites#
- Use the Windows version of Withering Realms.
- Keep an empty candle available if you want to use Copy Realm.
Route 01
Find the files or make an in-game copy#
Choose the method that matches your goal. The folder is useful for locating your files; Copy Realm makes another Realm through the game menu.
Locate your Windows user folder#
Open File Explorer and navigate to C:/Users/[your Windows user]/AppData/LocalLow/Moonless Formless/Withering Realms. Replace the bracketed part with your own Windows user folder name. If AppData is hidden, enter the path in the address bar instead of looking for a visible folder.
Open the Steam ID subfolder#
The final folder uses your Steam ID. Do not substitute the Withering Rooms folder: that is a different game. These instructions identify the Windows save location and do not provide a Steam Deck or Linux path.
Copy the Realm in the game#
From the title screen, choose Realms and select the Realm you want to copy. Open Manage Realm, select Copy Realm, and choose an empty candle. This gives you a separate destination without overwriting an occupied candle.
