Withering Realms: What to Try When You Cannot Move
Quick Answer
If your Withering Realms character is stuck, report the bug from the pause menu or by pressing /. Then try the hand mirror if you have unlocked it. Otherwise, open Gameplay Options and change the difficulty to reload the area. You can change the difficulty back afterward; the official support FAQ says changing difficulty does not affect achievements.

- Your game still responds enough to open its options or use an item.
- The hand mirror option requires you to have unlocked it.
Route 01
Try the recovery option available to you#
These options address a character who cannot move. Choose the one you can access from your current state.
Use the hand mirror if it is available#
Try your unlocked hand mirror to get out of the stuck position. If you have not unlocked it, skip this option; you do not need to search for an unavailable inventory item.
Change difficulty to trigger a reload#
Open Gameplay Options and select a different difficulty. The support FAQ gives this as the fallback for a stuck character because changing the setting reloads the area.
Return to your preferred difficulty#
After recovering control, you can restore the difficulty you prefer. Difficulty changes do not affect achievements according to the official FAQ; the workaround does not require keeping the game permanently easier.
